Shitty blogger alert…

Yikes. I haven’t posted here in a month. A goddamn MONTH. Sorry, my lovelies. What can I say? Life gets hectic sometimes. Until this writing thing pays the bills, that pesky day job will continue to pull me away from time to time. Let’s catch up, shall we?

Yes, I am still working on the new book. It is going to be a long process; I have a lot of material already written, but poems take more time than short stories. In my opinion, anyway. Also, with the day job being intense the last few weeks, I fear I am suffering a small bout of the dreaded Writer’s Block. Not to worry; I have survived it before, and I will do it again. The muse will undoubtedly return soon.

In other news, I have been finding more time to read lately. I currently have three books going. Dante’s Inferno (haven’t read it since high school), a collection of vampire short stories compiled by Poppy Brite, and Dracula for my 5th read-through. (What? It’s my favorite book!) I am also starting to work my way through the IDW comics for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I have a borderline obsession with these guys that stems from my childhood.

Well, not all the iterations. The atrocious Michael Bay abominations can rot in hell next to the 1987 cartoon (except the Red Sky years, those are alright), the Next Mutation crap, the live action rock band nonsense, Rise of the TMNT, and the 2012 animated reboot. My personal favorite version is the 2003-2010 animated version. This, to me, is the gold standard in the TMNT universe. However, I do have love for the 1990 and 1991 live action films (But not that 3rd film. Just…no.), as well as the original Mirage comics that serve as the source material for all things TMNT. Okay, so I’m picky when it comes to my obsessions. I am the same way with vampires. You know this. True, TMNT are not exactly gothic or creepy, but they are so goddamn fun that I can’t help but adore them. When they’re done right, of course. And no, I don’t have high hopes for that upcoming animated film by Seth Rogen. I won’t even go there, or this blog will reach epic lengths. Suffice it to say, what I have already seen has not impressed me.

Alright, so this blog kind of went off into an odd direction. Oh, well. This is what happens when I have nothing creepy to write about. I start blabbing about myself and you get to see just how weird I can be. To recap, I have writer’s block, I am still actively writing the next book, I am reading a lot, and I hope to get back to more frequent posting on all my Twisted Libra platforms. I also have a strong (I refuse to say “unhealthy”) obsession with TMNT. And for those of you who are dying to know…of course Raphael is my favorite. What did you expect?

Until next time…
