I finally made it back to my favorite cemetery, my lovelies! Hollywood Cemetery absolutely feeds my dark little soul. I have not visited in several weeks due to the atrociously brutal summer weather. Alas, things have finally begun to cool down here, and this morning I made the trip with very little sweat and few insects. It was still a tad too humid for my tastes, but I was able to spend a delightful few hours among the dead. What bliss!

I wrote a few new things, and I felt the stirring of the muse in my heart once again. It is a good feeling, considering how utterly bleak I have felt for the last few months. It’s almost as if I die each year between May and September. My creativity and my very essence seems to wither in the dreaded summer heat; the crowds and noise keep me locked away inside, and the bugs…well, those little bastards can just go back to hell where they came from. I’m not fearful, just highly annoyed. Suffice it to say, I do not thrive in the warmer months. Although it is not quite autumn, my heart has started to twitch with excitement over the dreary, cold months to come. I love rain, clouds, and cold weather. No bugs, no allergens, no people. It’s a magnificent time for me.

Spooky season is officially upon us, my lovelies. It’s time for those of us with a freakish tether to the nether to pounce on the world with our darkness and entomb everyone with gothic glee! Now, before I turn this post into some sort of deranged Ted Talk, let me post the shameless self promotions and be done with it. Here:
